Back with a bang!
I have to say Im sorry for not writing anything in the last month. It was a very frustrating month, while I waited for the parts from China, struggling with customs, no computer half the time and having very limited internet.
Everything happens for a reason and some decisions I made ended up to be the right one as I ended up staying with this guy Marko. He is 76 and I have learned so much from him. He is Croatian by birth and escaped to Italy when he was 17, as they stole a boat and rowed across the Adriatic Sea to Italy. He ended up in Canada and worked there for 47 years before returning to Croatia. He now has this place where I stay that he builded. Beautiful views over the sea, quiet and very peaceful. Cold showers and electricity only from solar panels and a generator. I can sit and listen to Marko for hours as he tell me about WWII, Yugoslavia War, Canadian history and retuning to Croatia. He left in a row boat, returned with a yacht and was shot down during the last war.
Marko also showed me around the area of Gruda. Beautiful views from the mountain and where the old railway was.
My first day back on the road into Montenegro was a very wet day. I did not mind much because I was just happy to be back :). I stayed over in the beautiful city of Kotor, made some great new Ozzy friends and hit the road again the next day. Had load of problems with the bicycle and spend my second day, about four to five hours to get my bicycle in a better shape. After a long day and not many kilometers behind me I pulled of next to a small waterfall whoch will be my camping spot for the night . I had a nice waterfall shower and after had good fall when I tried to climb back up a muddy wall when a branch decided to break. When the branch broke I got a nice cut in my hand and was followed with my ass on some rocks.
I was rained in at Bar for another day after I decided not to cycle further in this rain storm. I think this was more needed than I expected when I arrived. This gave me a day and a half to just recap, get my head back into the game and made myself ready for the final stretch to Istanbul!!
The day I left Bar, I replied with a nice 126km which took me my adventure cycling total over 10 000km! This also took me into Albania 🙂 Man what a country!!! But Im leaving that for my next blog 🙂
Cheers for now
