Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
If you visit Malaysia and expect to see lots of sights and beautiful architecture… Sorry to say, but you will be disappointed. Im not saying that there’s not great things to do!!
What I experienced about Malaysia in my short visit… Go to Malaysia and make sure that you truly get part of the community. Experience their cultures, history and all the various religions!!
As most of the Asian countries, KL also have a China Town and Little India. All of them are similar, but definitely worth visiting! Have a look around, grab some food and just enjoy all the weird things that they sell. The colonial district is also a must, to get a glims of the history of KL.
Night markets, hawker stalls and food court is a must!! With Over 50 000 registered hawkers you will definitely get something you like. Try something weird to eat!! Some of the nice things I would recommend:
1. Nasi Imak
2. Nasi Ayam
4. Roti Kanai
During the day make a stop in Central Market! Have a drink to cool down, grap something to eat or buy something cheap!
The Petronas Towers are definitely the ons things that you have to see while in KL. Absolutely an amazing piece of architecture. Very difficult to take photos because of its size (88 floors without the spires). Was the tallest building between 1998 – 2004 until Taipei 101 was finished. The Petronas Towers still remain the tallest twin buildings in the world! They also have 29 double-deck lift systems to transport all the people to different floors.
There is also very nice temples to visit.
Was very disappointed with the Batu Caves!! They had some sort of party the previous night. Was incredibly dirty and so smelly! They could rather close it for a day and make sure it is properly clean before they get tourists to visit! Luckily it was free to walk up and the the caves.
Had a great time in Malaysia and had a GREAT couchsurfing host!! Showing me around KL and experienced some of the real traditional food and markets!
