Mexico City – Photo Blog
So, cycling into Mexico City turned out to probably be the most nerve-racking 6 hours of my life! The traffic, roads and people were crazy (on the road). With no shoulder in most parts and no GPS to guide me, things got interesting. After hours of zig zagging I finally made it to Nápoles, where I was about to stay with an old friend (Pattie), who I met back in Croatia.
Mexico City is such a cool city. You have a thousand things you can do and the people is so nice. So, if you plan to stay three days or one month, you will be able to keep yourself busy.
Palacio de Bellas Artes
The construction of the Palacio de Bellas Artes October 1904 and was finally finished in 1934, due to complications and a period where they stopped the construction for nineteen years. Its situated just outside of the historical centre and easy to find on foot. This is a beautiful building to visit while in Mexico City.

Historic Centre of Mexico City and Xochimilco
My brother finally arrived on the 17th of November and while he get rid of his jetlag, it was time to hit the streets of Mexico City. Our hotel was in Centro Histórico (historical center), so it was also a good place to wander. The Historic Centre of Mexico City and Xochimilco, is beautiful and tons going on and keep you entertained. Perfect way to kick off my brother 50 day visit.
Walking around Zócalo, which means main plaza, is a must when you make a stop in Mexico City.
National Museum of Anthropology
During our 12 day stay in Mexico City we decided to visit the National Museum of Anthropology, which is situated in the Chapultepec Park. It is the world’s largest collections of archaeological and anthropological artifacts from the Mayan civilizations. This Anthropology museum is one of the most impressive museums I’ve visited.
Mexico City is one of those cities that can keep you busy for one month. There is tons of things to see and experience. We also did two weekend side trips to the Pre-Hispanic City of Teotihuacan and Historic Centre of Puebla, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
There is also still a list of other close by cities, regions and national parks that you can visit. So, when heading to Mexico City, make sure you get around the beautiful city and also drive around the city to see other parts and do different activities.
